Springboard Foundation Launches a Campaign to fight against COVID-19 with Fako Drivers’ Union
The springboard foundation Cameroon last week began implementing a number of measures to aid in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 1000 awareness materials like flyers and brochures were printed and handed over to the Fako Taxi Drivers union for distribution to taxi drivers in the community.
The foundation also handed over personal preventive equipment materials like face mask hand sanitizers to help curb the spread of the corona virus and to make sure ordinary citizens have access to timely and accurate information within the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.
Topics including emergency, the disease and its symptoms and conditions, preparedness and response, healthy living and safety, among others were the focus in the campaign.
The severity of COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts on the countries health system, economies, disruption of lives, especially in a region like ours are very worrying.
It is therefore necessary to make sure that targeted responses put in place in the fight against COVID-19 are well known to all to enable the ordinary communities/citizens be part and contribute to the fight against the spread of the d
The foundation intends to continue to support the dissemination of coronavirus-related information to all interior communities in the South West region of Cameroon and beyond and to expand the distribution of self-protective materials to a larger community in the fight against COVID-19 in the days ahead.
Thousands of inhabitants will benefit from the programme immediately, as the foundation intends to work directly with community representatives who help in the distribution of self-preventive materials and in sensitizing targeted communities.
